Christmas Eve 2016

img_7406I can’t quite believe its Christmas Eve, suddenly the month has slipped by very quickly. Its been a busy one, starting with our weekend away to Bath, winter walks, lots of family time, lots of work too.

I want to savour every minute of the next few days as this Christmas will be special for several reasons and I want to enjoy each precious moment of it. This will be the first Christmas in our new home, I’ve loved making it feel festive and cosy. The living room is especially lovely with the log burner and the tree in the corner of the room. We bought some new decorations this year and decided to go with a gold, red and purple theme. It looks so pretty and dainty!

For the first time in over three years I get to spend Christmas with someone else. This time of year is so much more special when you get to share it with the people you love, and I’m so thankful that I have everyone I care about around me. I can’t wait to spend this weekend with my family.

I love our Christmas Eve’s at home, mum always puts on a spread of delicious buffet food: cold meats, pickles, bread, cheese – all the good stuff. We graze on the food throughout the evening then chill out in front of a festive film: I love The Snowman on Christmas Eve as it takes me straight back to my childhood. The pugs snuggle up next to us in their tartan red and white harnesses on their Christmas blanket. Ah, bring on the festivities!
